SPADA DI SAN GALGANO.
Secolo XII°.
La spada č conservata nella chiesa di San Galgano in
provincia di Siena,
conficcata nella roccia da San Galgano Guidotti. Lama in
acciaio con scanalatura. Breve elso
a bracci diritti e pomolo appiattito a forma ovale.
Impugnatura in legno fasciato di striscie di pelle.
Lunghezza cm 100. Peso gr 1270
SWORD OF SAINT GALGANO.
Thirteenth Century.
The sword is kept inthe church of San Galgano in the
province of Siena
and was fixed into stone by Saint Galgano Guidotti. Steel
blade with fuller. Short hilt with
straight arms and flattened oval shaped pommel. Wooden
grip wrapped with leather strips.
Length overall 100 cm. Weight 1270 gr.
